The Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla offers a rare invitation for the public to stroll behind the gates of some of La Jolla’s loveliest secluded gardens. While the garden locations remain a closely guarded secret until the day of the tour, there will be six spectacular La Jolla properties with beautiful views and unique settings that make this tour unlike any other. Each garden experience is enhanced with live musicians, plein air artists, and tabletop designs created by talented local florists and designers. Claudia Rodríguez-Biezunski, better known as Sew Loka, is a San Diego-based textile artist and fashion designer who has made a significant impact in the intersection of streetwear, sustainability, Chicana culture, and DIY fashion. She gained prominence for her distinctive style of customizing and upcycling clothing, while only using recycled, reclaimed and repurposed fabrics to create all of her one of a kind fashion designs and textile art pieces. Qué onda, friends! It's an incredible moment to be a soccer fan in San Diego and across the border region! The arrival of San Diego FC, Major League Soccer's newest franchise, has unleashed a wave of soccer fever throughout the entire community. We tagged along with Barra 18, one of the official supporter groups of SDFC, to catch an away game and learn firsthand what's got fans buzzing with excitement. Later, we sat with KPBS's Jacob Aere, producer of the digital mini-series “Soccer a la frontera” to talk about the history and culture of soccer in the region and putting this 5-part series together.
