Without grief support, children are at higher-than-average risk for problems in school, substance abuse, depression and anxiety. The Elizabeth Hospice’s Children’s Bereavement Program is the only one of its kind in San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County. The program includes school-based grief support groups in 19 school districts, peer-based grief support groups held throughout the school year in Children’s Bereavement Centers in Escondido and Mission Valley, summer grief camp, and community grief education and support. Services are free of charge, and everyone is welcome to participate. Registration for Heart & Soul is now open here!
