As a recording and touring artist, James Taylor has touched people with his warm baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 50 years, while setting a precedent to which countless young musicians have aspired. Over the course of his celebrated songwriting and performing career, he has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards since the release of his self-titled debut album in 1968. In 2015, he released "Before This World," the first-ever #1 album of his illustrious career. James has won multiple Grammy® Awards, has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and the prestigious Songwriters Halls of Fame and in February 2006, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences selected him its MUSICARES Person of the Year. He was also awarded the distinguished Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government and the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama in 2012. In November of 2015, James was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Nation's highest civilian honor, and in December of 2016 he received the Kennedy Center Honors, which are presented annually to individuals who have enriched American culture by distinguished achievement in the performing arts.  In early 2020 he released "Break Shot," a deeply personal and authentic audio-only memoir detailing his first 21 years. CANCELLED Steve Miller has been a monumental presence on the American music scene for more than half a century – and, in the course of that era, his releases have sold tens of millions of records and been streamed billions of times. Miller’s "Greatest Hits 1974-78" received the RIAA Diamond Award with sales of more than fifteen million copies. It is among the 25 best-selling albums of all time. At the start of his career, Miller was a mainstay of the San Francisco music scene that upended American culture in the late '60s. With albums like "Children of the Future," "Sailor" and "Brave New World," Miller perfected a psychedelic blues sound that drew on the deepest sources of American roots music and simultaneously articulated a compelling vision of what music - and, indeed, society - could be in the years to come. Then, beginning in the ‘70s, Miller crafted a brand of pure pop that was smart, polished, exciting and irresistible - and that dominated radio in a way that few artists have ever managed. Hit followed hit in what seemed like an endless flow: “The Joker,” "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love," “Swingtown” and “Abracadabra,” among them. (2024) Sally Gearhart was a charismatic trailblazer who led the charge in the 1970s and '80s lesbian feminist movement, leaving an indelible mark on women’s rights and LGBTQ+ equality. A brilliant and magnetic superstar, she inspired thousands with her unapologetic activism and visionary leadership. Yet, by 2008, her pivotal contributions had been all but forgotten, her legacy notably absent from the Hollywood film Milk. How could history overlook Sally Gearhart? This is the story of a revolutionary figure who cannot be erased. SPECIAL GUEST: Ondine Rarey Ondine is a filmmaker, editor, and writer. Her documentary FOOLS AND HEROES was a Grimme-Preis nominee (the German equivalent of an Emmy), airing on ARTE in France as well as stateside on PBS. She has edited well over a dozen documentary features and shorts, including "Now en Español" (for PBS), "A Great Ride," "Who Will Write Our History" and, “Rebel Hearts” an official selection at Sundance 2021.
