Third Sunday Craft is a monthly gathering of creative writers that fosters support, inspiration, and community. More than craft classes, Third Sunday Craft will help you construct and sustain a writing practice. New focus topics for each session will challenge writers to explore and expand their craft. Generative writing prompts will encourage you to grow and learn in exciting new ways. Sharing your work within a safe, supportive community will help you discover and strengthen your voice. A new exhibit displays Black Americans’ relationship to the Pacific Ocean between the 16th and 20th centuries. Then, we preview of the Without Walls Festival and the San Diego Book Crawl.

Rugs have a deep history as a textile art, but also as objects that create space for comfort, thought, and worldbuilding. Using handheld tufting machines, participants can create and design their own rugs using colorful yarn. Learn how to create and translate a design for the medium as well as learn the basics of a tufting machine and begin filling in your designs. This class is perfect for ages 11+ and we kindly ask that adults actively participate in this art activity alongside any child under the age of 11. Kids can move between different sensory stations at their own pace, sparking their curiosity and creativity.
