She previously worked as associate regional editor for Patch and as a reporter for the San Diego News Network, Reuters, 10News, and The Huffington Post. Hoa is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association, Society of Professional Journalists, and the San Diego Press Club. In her spare time, she teaches children's yoga and volunteers with Words Alive. She is a graduate of San Diego State University, where she studied journalism, Spanish, and Asian Studies.
