Fourteen years ago, French filmmaker Christian Carion discovered a book that referenced the Christmas Truce of 1914 when French, Scottish and German soldiers called an ad hoc ceasefire. KPBS film critic Beth Accomando speaks with Carion about Joyeux Noel (currently playing at Landmark's La Jolla Village Theaters), the Oscar-nominated film inspired by this historical event.
