US Attorney Firings, Walter Reed, Liberty Station
Friday, March 16, 2007
The editors gather at the roundtable for opinions on the week's news. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales admitted that "mistakes" were made in the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys last year, but rejected calls for his resignation. Will Gonzales be forced out, and who are the candidates to replace the fired prosecutors?
Also, the fallout following reports of neglect and inadequate medical care at Walter Reed Army Medical Center is reaching San Diego. Are the same problems also going on at the San Diego Naval Medical Center?
And, did the City of San Diego lose out in its redevelopment deal for Liberty Station?
