Union leaders with the California Teachers Association met up with teachers who have received layoff notices. Together they talked about how the Governor's proposed cuts will hurt students and teachers.

Oak Park's Andrew Robinson says he and his wife could lose their house if the cuts go through.

Robinson: Absolutely it scares me. We're working on two incomes right now. We're going to be working on one. We have a brand new baby on the way in July. And yeah it’s frustrating and its very upsetting. It’s very difficult to sleep at night.

The teachers union says there have been 14,000 layoff notices issued to teachers across the state. They say California's education system will be devastated.
