Tom Fudge: Surgery is the most serious and invasive medical procedure we know of. That's when doctors actually have to enter your body as a last resort to treating or curing an ailment.

In the old days, and those old days aren't so long ago, doctors did this by making an incision to open up your body, in much the same way a mechanic would open the hood of a car. But today in some procedures, the incisions have gotten much smaller as docs have found ways to use very small cameras they insert in your body to find their way around.

In fact, now they've added robotics to the mix.
