Chris Rock’s Documentary “Good Hair” Skips San Diego

**UPDATE: I just got word that "Good Hair" is opening in San Diego on October 23rd. Whew!

Video

Trailer for Chris Rock's "Good Hair"

Chris Rock's new documentary about African-American hair is not coming to San Diego! According to Variety, "Good Hair" "is a raucous and rigorous inquiry into the subject of African-American hair -- the stigmas, the secrets, the shocking price of maintenance - that gets at universal but rarely discussed truths about black femininity." We San Diegans will never know if it's raucous or rigorous. We won't learn of the stigmas or the "rarely discussed truths about black femininity." Of course, you can always gain some insight by reading this. This is shameful, people, SHAMEFUL! Just take a look at what we're missing.

Greetings!

I'm so glad that the movie is coming to San Diego. Do you know what theatres?

My wife and I agreed that, if we had daughters, my wife would do their hair, even if that meant flying them home from college. The reason? Plane tickets are cheaper.

Which theaters is the movie playing at this weekend? I cannot find any information online from the Showtime websites or the Movie's website itself.

Hello all-
The publicist says the film is set to open at Horton Plaza, AMC Mission Valley, Regal Rancho San Diego, and AMC Palm Promenade.

Also, one of our film critics, Scott Marks, saw a screening last week and said it's both interesting and a lot of fun. We'll be talking about the movie next week on our Film Club of the Air (Wed, 10/28) so call in and tell us what you thought of it.
