Teen Review: 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'

Teen Joins Team Jasper After Latest Installment of Vamp Saga

The movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (opened June 24 throughout San Diego) is by far my favorite of "The Twilight Saga" so far. The films are based on Stephenie Meyer's books about a young girl torn between a vampire and a werewolf.

No it wasn’t just because Jacob (Taylor "look at my six-pack" Lautner) was almost never wearing a shirt, but also because of all the action! Werewolves and vampires fighting against vampires. Wow! But this movie converted me. I am no longer on Team Jacob. I am sorry my fellow Jacob fans. I am now Team Jasper! Jasper (played by Jackson Rathbone), one of the Cullen clan, was shown in a completely new light and I gotta tell you I liked it. He had more to do and showed a strong fighting side that I had not seen before.

Everyone of course gave an amazing performances… um, except Kristen Stewart as Bella. Bella's character kept pissing me off and I guess you could say that’s good acting if the character is meant to piss you off. But in my opinion Stewart still doesn’t fit the part. She is great in a lot of the other films she has made but not "Twilight," hun, sorry.

So in addition to seeing the new movie I got to experience a red carpet event at Petco Park. There was a lot of stuff going on and I wanted to take advantage of it all. The event included the screening of the first two films outdoor at the Park as well as a red carpet with some of the actors in attendance. So there were a lot of fans. And I mean a LOT of fans showed up for this event. The crowd was full of fans representing both sides: Team Edward and Team Jacob. However, I was the only person I saw wearing a team Jacob shirt. The event went on for hours and the band War Stories was performing and everyone seemed to really like them.

Unlike everyone else in the crowd I got to hear a song that was dedicated to yours truly -- only because I made them of course but I'm just like that. Well after the band was done performing that’s when the real fun started. I got the honor of going down the red carpet to interview Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle, and Christian Serratos who plays Angela… well at least I got to interview Peter. See as I was waiting for my turn to interview the cast members I was skipped. Yea I was skipped over by Angela. Come on she's not even a major character! Well anywho… I did get to interview Peter, and even though we weren't on the same team (he was Team Edward), he's still was a really cool guy. He seemed very down to earth. When asking him about what advice he would give to a young aspiring actor/actress (like maybe me), he answered by saying, “the best advice I ever got was ‘never give up’ and if that is what you want to be then it has to be a life thing." He also had a sense of humor that he was willing to share with people.

And oh yea, I would like to say that the person from Sophie 103.7 was rude. She acted as though she was better than me just because she has her own radio station and people know who she is. But that doesn’t mean that you can just tell me I gotta move when I'm in my own designated area, right? Well anyway, the event was lots of fun and the cast members… well at least Peter Facinelli... was awesome!

I do suggest seeing "Eclipse." It is the most action-packed of the three "Twilight" films so far. Well that concludes the teen thoughts of Marina. Till the next big hit comes out...

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence, and some sensuality.
