San Diego: We Want Your Halloween Pictures

One of the best Halloween costumes I've ever seen was so simple. A guy in bright purple pants and shirt, with a high top tennis shoe stuck to his head. He was gum stuck to the bottom of a shoe!

Of course, elaborate Halloween costumes are always fun, as are those that capture the political or cultural zeitgeist.

I want to see what San Diegans have come up with for Halloween costumes over the years. Send me a picture of you or someone you know in your favorite Halloween costume. Young, old, scary or clever, it doesn't matter. It just has to be a Halloween costume you think is a cut above.

Send your pictures to me at acarone@kpbs.org. Please tell me who's in the picture and the name of the costume.

I'll be publishing many of these photos on Culture Lust in the coming days leading up to Halloween.

You may also end up on the radio! Next Wednesday, KPBS film critic Beth Accomando and producer Andy Trimlett will join Maureen Cavanaugh on These Days to talk about costume and decorating ideas. We'd like to include some of you in that show.

So hit the scanner and your digital archives and send me your best Halloween costume!

Beth and Andy agreed to get you started with their favorite costumes from when they were kids and from more recently.

Again, please send your pictures to me at acarone@kpbs.org. Tell me who's in the picture and the name of the costume. Group costumes are also welcome.
