Benefit Screening of Sundance Hit on Tuesday

The San Diego Film Critics Society is holding a benefit screening of the Sundance hit "Douchebag" on Tuesday October 19 at 7pm at the Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas.

"Douchebag" (now there's a great title!) is the latest in the mumblecore movement. These ultra low-budget films tend to focus on personal and contemporary relationships. "Douchebag" looks to a pair of estranged brothers brought together by the older brother's upcoming wedding. The comedy-drama follows them on an awkward and soul-searching road trip. Some of the cast and crew will be in attendance for a Q&A following the film so I hope you can come and support independent filmmaking and the local San Diego Film Critics Society.

If you are a myKPBS Film Club member you have until noon today to enter for free passes. Tickets will be available at the box office on Tuesday night for a suggested donation of $10.

This special advance screening benefits the San Diego Film Critics Society, a non-profit organization whose mission statement is: "To provide diverse critical opinion about movies, advance film education and awareness, and recognize excellence in cinema." Proceeds will go to future film events (such as the student film festival Film School Confidential) and scholarship funds.
