Before "Evita," before "Phantom of the Opera," before "Cats" composer Andrew Lloyd Webber burst into popular culture with his irreverent, but sweeping musical about the life of Christ, "Jesus Christ Superstar."
Now, a revival of the 1970's musical is coming to the La Jolla Playhouse directed by one the Playhouse's most illustrious alumni...Des McAnuff.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" runs through December 31 at the La Jolla Playhouse and then goes on to Broadway.

It's Ted Neeley or it's no one. He owned the part. This is almost like casting Thor in the role.
