Thunderstorms Expected In San Diego Tuesday

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in San Diego County today.

According to the National Weather Service, an upper level disturbance off the coast of Southern California will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region as early as this morning.

"These thunderstorms have the potential to produce, hail, frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds,'' according to an NWS advisory. "When you hear thunder, move inside immediately.''

In addition to scattered showers and thunderstorms, there is a moderate risk of flash flooding, NWS meteorologists said.

Temperatures around the county are expected to peak in the low 70s to low 80s, except in the deserts, where a high of 94 degrees is expected.
