Calif. Poll: Obama’s Approval Rating Falls Below 50 Percent

Audio

Aired 9/14/11

A new poll shows that for the first time since he took office, President Obama’s approval rating has fallen below 50% in California.

The new Field Poll finds that fewer than half of California voters – 46 percent – approve of President Obama’s performance. Just three months ago it was 54 percent.

According to the poll, the drop has occurred across all voting groups. When it comes to his handling of the economy, only 40 percent of California voters approve -- 49 percent of those surveyed were inclined to re-elect the President, while 44 percent were not.

The Field Poll also asked voters whether they thought the country was headed in the right direction. More than two-thirds said things were on the wrong track.

The poll of roughly 1,000 registered California voters was conducted earlier this month.

The situation of the economy is not President Barrack Obama's work. This is the work of government in general. Congress and previous presidents are at fault. We are suffering for their mistakes from the past. They were only concerned about their own term in office, not what the future holds. If we want to see a turnaround we need to support President Barrack Obama. No one can undo in 4 years what has taken a generation to create.

I hear Mitt Romney say he will allow offshore oil drilling, fight unions, less government. Who is he kidding? Our world is polluted enough! Shouldn't we be looking for alternate energy resources instead of going back ten steps? Less government spending? Republicans have long been big spenders in defense solely to keep jobs instead of protecting our nation. There have been many cases of the government spending billions on military projects that have proven wasteful. He will fight unions? Who's going to fight for the working class? Companies that support Mitt Romney do not offer living wages, but minimum wage. Is that the future of America?

Support President Barrack Obama and in less than 4 years we will see a turnaround.
