Inspector Morse is a character from the detective novels by British author Colin Dexter. John Thaw stars as this most unlikely detective in the massively popular, award-winning television series of murder mysteries. Inspector Morse is a gentle romantic, out of shape, craving good beer, classical music, and difficult crossword puzzles. But aided by trusted sidekick Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately), Morse still gets the job done.
Widely acclaimed by critics, the series attracts millions of viewers worldwide. Oxford's most famous export, the unique character of Inspector Endeavour Morse, has proven to be one of the world's most popular detective dramas.
"Twilight Of The Gods," Parts One & Two air Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 9 p.m. & 10 p.m. - In these episodes, Oxford is to be donated a new college building by businessman Andrew Bayton. While the celebrations are taking place, Morse and Lewis make inquiries into the murder of a journalist who was working on an article about Bayton. This episode features Sir John Gielgud.
