Most everyone has heard of the 2012 Mayan prophecy. Astronomers in the Mayan culture established "long-count" calendars, which seem to end in December 2012. Some theorists say this means the world may come to an end, or some great calamity might occur. Now comes a new planetarium show at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park that hopes to inspire and educate audiences about the Mayan culture. Producers of the new show say "Tales of the Maya Skies" details how astronomy connected the ancient Mayans to the universe.
