State Department To Release More Clinton Emails Today

The State Department says it will release 296 emails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email account at 12:30 p.m. ET today.

In a statement, the department said these emails were provided to the Select Committee on Benghazi in February. The documents span a two-year period from Jan. 1, 2011, to Dec. 31, 2012, and relate to the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, and the American diplomatic presence in that country.

"The emails we release today do not change the essential facts or our understanding of the events before, during, or after the attacks, which have been known since the independent Accountability Review Board report on the Benghazi attacks was released almost two and a half years ago," the statement said.
