San Diego canyons threatened by growth

One of San Diego's most unique assets is its canyons. And the Canyonlands Committee of San Diego Civic Solutions argues we need to protect canyons as a crucial part of our landscape and ecology.

One of San Diego's most unique assets is its canyons. They link diverse parts of the region, and provide green space through a rapidly growing area. What role should our canyons play in the future of San Diego? Should homebuilders be able to encroach on their edges? Should people be able to use them for recreation? The Canyonlands Committee of San Diego Civic Solutions argues that we should look at our canyons as if they were lakes. We should beware of their edges and really use them to help define the area. Today, we discuss their hopes for the future of our canyons. We also hear from listeners about how they use the canyons that surround them.
