Arte y Pureza perform flamenco in its purest form
Flamenco guitarist Ethan Margolis and dancer Cihtli Ocampo perform the traditional gypsy dancing and music that gave birth to popular Flamenco. Arte y Pureza will open its 2006 season here in San Diego with one performance only - this Sunday, January 29th at the Mandeville auditorium on the UCSD campus. The performance starts at 7 pm.
Guests:
- Cihtli Ocampo is known as "La Gallardi." She is a Flamenco dancer who is originally from San Diego. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship for Flamenco and Spanish dance in 1999 and has lived in Seville since 2000.
- Ethan Margolis plays Spanish flamenco guitar and is the artistic director of Arte y Pureza.
