We're not the only ones experiencing sticker shock at the pump. Governor Schwarzenegger says he's asked the California Energy Commission to look into possible price-gouging in the state.
Schwarzenegger: I think that it is a very valid concern so we are looking into that and if we see that, then of course there should be punishment for that.
In a letter to the Energy Commissioner Schwarzenegger noted that while economists claim supply and demand is at play California must not rule out the possibility of price gouging or unfair businesses practices by oil companies. The Governor has directed the Commission to begin the investigation immediately.
