Reporter journeys into the heart of America's conservative revolution
Many journalists and scholars have written about this so-called Red-Blue political split among Americans. Brian Mann is an NPR reporter who sees it in his own family. His book, called Welcome to the Homeland, is very much about his relationship with his brother, Allen. Allen lives in rural Missouri. He votes Republican and attends an evangelical church.
Brian Mann, who calls himself a liberal, believes the Red-Blue split in America is actually a divide between urban America and rural, small town America.
