Voters Support School Bonds
Prop. O will help to modernize and repair dozens of aging classrooms in the Sweetwater Union High School District. Campaign spokesman Bruce Husson says the $644 million school bond will also help to equip older schools with the latest technology.
Husson: Today’s classrooms are much different. They need much more capacity for electricity, and multimedia and computers and data and all the kinds of things that go into making a first-class education program.
Meanwhile, voters the Carlsbad School District secured a $198 million school bond. The measure will pay to modernize five schools and build a new high school. In Santee, a $60 million school bond appears to have passed. That measure will fund new classrooms buildings, and upgrade school libraries and athletic fields.
