Each month, the Iraq war costs taxpayers about $8 billion. But another cost - the psychological toll on the troops - is harder to figure. Many of the soldiers returning from combat in Iraq are troubled. They’re struggling with what they did there, what they saw, and how to transition into their former lives. Some vets don’t seek help because of the stigma. Others say they’re discouraged by their superiors from seeking treatment. KPBS reporter Amita Sharma talks with psychotherapist David Peters about the mental health of Iraq war veterans.
