Vista to Vote on Becoming a Charter City
Tom Fudge: Voters in the City of Vista will cast their ballots this summer on what might seem like a rather unusual political question. Should Vista become a charter city? Most cities in California are not charter cities, though the largest ones, like San Diego, are.
In the case of Vista, it looks like becoming a charter city could save it millions of dollars when it comes to hiring contractors. The City of Vista will have a special election on June 5, 2007, to decide whether to accept a city charter.
