Tom Fudge: Residents of San Diego now have a number to call if they have anxiety about their commute. The number is 511. 511 systems are being used in a number of urban areas. The new system in San Diego is modeled after a highly successful program in the San Francisco Bay area. They've been using it since 2002.
511 is operated locally by SANDAG, the San Diego Association of Governments. Joining me to tell us what it does is Garry Bonelli.
Public Info: 511 starts today. You can access the free service on the phone by dialing 511 or on the web at www.511sd.com . [ add the link to this address using the hyperlink tool ]
