Farm Bill Could Bring Changes to Food Industry

Alison St John (Guest Host):  We are what we eat -- and the food we eat is changing.  One of the overarching influences that affect which foods fill our local grocery stores is the United States Farm Bill.  The Farm Bill is reauthorized every few years and 2007 happens to be one of those years.  Is there a chance to give the small farmer more of the incentives that have been siphoned off almost exclusively to megalithic industrial agricultural companies?  We'll take a look at the food we eat, how agri-business is affecting our diet, and what we can do to avoid the pesticides, antibiotics and other chemicals that lace our fruits, vegetables and meats.
