Alison St John (Guest Host): International aid is usually in the hundreds of millions of dollars, but as it turns out, those enormous loans are sometimes not as effective as small loans. Micro loans of $50 or $100, are allowing individuals in a community to use their own entrepreneurial energy. WomensTrust is a good example of a micro-loan organization that has begun to make significant changes, using small loans to groups of women in a village in Ghana.
A fundraising event for the WomensTrust will be held this Friday night from 6 to 8p.m. If you are interested in more information about the event, send an e-mail to ABFINEFOOD@yahoo.com .
