Civil Libertarian Says the U.S. is Less Safe Since Sept. 11
Tom Fudge: There has been no significant terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11, 2001. Some people would say that means the preventive security measures the U.S. is taking have been effective. David Cole disagrees. In fact he says, if anything, measures that have curbed civil liberties of citizens and non-citizens, living in our country, have made us less safe.
David Cole will be speaking tonight at 7 p.m. at the Lyceum Theatre downtown.

- David Cole , professor at Georgetown University Law Center. He also writes for The Nation on legal affairs, and is author of No Equal Justice: Race and Class in the American Criminal Justice System.
