New Zealand filmmaker Taika Watiti says Kiwi humor's a little different from that in Hollywood. I met up with Watiti and actress Loren Horsely in the lobby of a mall multiplex to talk about their off beat romantic comedy Eagle Vs. Shark. You can listen to the radio feature or read the transcript.

It's easy to go for the throat in reviewing a movie like this. Talk of "tweeness"" and refer to other movies made in NZ that have nothing to do with this one. I watched this movie at the preview in Atlanta July 10. As a kiwi living out of Nerw Zealand I loved the movie.
I'm only sorry my 3 teenages didn't get to see it. I have promised to buy the video.
My only regret is that I have also referred to Napoleon Dynamite in my discription of this movie which I see as my failing.
Asked what I thought of the movie at the end I said "Brilliant"

Eagle Vs. Shark will probably be available on DVD before the end of the year. It probably won't be widely distributed in theaters but it is making a few mall multiplexes.
