Local Women's Soccer Teams Fill Professional League Void

Alison St John (Guest Host): We've been talking big league soccer, and the speculation over what David Beckham will do for the sport in the United States. But hey, what about the home town teams?

We have in studio members of not one but two women's teams that are San Diego-based and have been doing really well this season. The SeaLions have been around in some form or another under different names for almost 20 years. The Sunwaves are brand new to San Diego.


The Sunwaves play this Friday, July 20th at 6:30 p.m. at USD's Torero Stadium against the Fort Collins Force. For tickets, go to sandiegosunwaves.com or call (619) 303-7290. 

The SeaLions play away this Saturday, July 21st at 7:30 p.m. against the Sonoma County F.C.
