Comic-Con Day 4: The Last Day! Sunday is a shortened day with the Con open from 10am to 5pm. The event is sold out so don't head down unless you already have a pass. Parking and crowds should be easier. Check out the programs scheduled for the final day.

Highlights so far:
Romero.
Blade Runner: I want to adopt Turkel and Hong and take them home to entertain my friends and family. Young and Cassidy are so beautiful it 'beggars the question'-- replicants?!!
Listened to Ray H give live commentary for his newly colorized "20 Million Miles to Earth". Yesterday: Harryhausen and Bradbury again. Ray squared. An annual tradition for me!
Best con purchase this year: the 2005 silent film "The Call Of Cthulu" (at the Cthulu Lives booth at the end of the 5000 Asile). Produced by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society, it's a thrilling, joyous ode to German expressionist cinema. I'm trying to finish the worst Lovecraft-inspired short in the history of mankind, and this film is everything mine should have been, and wanted to be! If only they could have shot 16mm or s8mm. Still, check it out!
Con continues to remind me of the deep ambiguity I feel about "pop culture" and the notion of entertainment in general. It's all fun and games until someone gets his mind poked out-- oops, eyeball. I mean eyeball! Really, I do!! ;)
Final purchases today. Haggle, folks, haggle! Talk those pirates down!
