A New Trend of Female Bouncers Hits San Diego's Nightlife
Tom Fudge: Certain words immediately create certain pictures in our heads and when I say ‘bouncer,’ you probably see a huge guy working in a bar with a grim expression on his face. If you’ve seen a lot of movies, he probably also has a shaved head and a goatee, but I digress. The point is, when I say bouncer, you probably don’t see a person who looks like Stacey Brown or Robin Burnett. But Stacey and Robin are female bouncers, or security guards, as their employer prefers to call them. A lot of women are being hired to keep patrons in line at bars, nightclubs and other events where people get out of hand.
