A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the tragic suicide deaths of artists Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake. This story continues to haunt, leading me to read as much of the media coverage as possible. As more information comes out, and the search for an explanation continues, the story grows extraordinarily strange and sad. The best and most comprehensive piece I've read was just published in
New York Magazine.
It's extremely well written. You can read it

I found the New York Mag article to be interesting, but was surprised to see they left out the incident of Ms. Duncan's plagiarism at Slate. It was a rather public issue, and Slate had to print an apology. I can't imagine it did wonders for Ms Duncan's deteriorating mental health.

Stickler for detail: wow, thanks for pointing out the Slate story. I didn't know about it.

I think the NY mag piece was very poetic, if a little short on sourced quotes. I understand he had a great deal of trouble getting people to talk on the record. The Newsweek piece comes out this week.
