San Diego Gas Up 14 Cents Per Gallon Since Monday
San Diego's average price for a gallon of gas is up 14 cents since Monday. The Utility Consumer's Action Network says it is unusual for prices to jump ten cents in a week. That makes this increase even more dramatic.
UCAN's Charles Langley tracks prices at hundreds of local gas stations. He says the average price is now $3.30 a gallon.
Langley says upward pressure on prices will probably continue.
Langley : We've got the threat of $100 a barrel oil and this is happening at a time of year, these price hikes, when normally we see the lowest prices of the year, starting right about now or December. Langley says the price of gas a year ago was only $2.42 a gallon. He says retail prices could top $4 a gallon by January.
