Gloria Penner on Three County Supervisors Fight For Re-election
Tom Fudge: This election year, three members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors are up for re-election. In terms of political excitement, this is not Barack v. Hillary…far from it. In fact, most San Diego County residents would, no doubt, be unable to tell you who their county supervisor is.
But the way the county supervisors fly under the radar is one thing that makes them kind of interesting. They are not subject to term limits. Even people who follow politics aren't sure what their responsibilities are, and each of them has access to a $2 million slush fund that they can basically spend however they want.
