His People screens with a live jazz ensemble on April 5 (Universal)
The San Diego Jewish Film Festival and the San Diego Jewish Music Festival will present the 1925 silent film His People this Saturday April 5 at 8:15 pm at the newly renovated Balboa Theater. And what's special about this screening is that not only does it offer the film with a new score but His People will be shown with a live jazz ensemble lead by composer Paul Shapiro. If you call the JCC Box Office at 858-362-1348 before Friday at 4pm you can get half price tickets when you mention KPBS. You can listen to my interview or read the transcript.
