Obama spoke to a packed audience at the National Council of La Raza meeting. He said whether it's education, healthcare, or immigration, the system just isn't working. Obama said people need to come together to change it.
And the Democratic senator said Latinos are crucial to the next election. Obama told the audience to remember what happened in 2004.
Obama: "Forty-thousand registered Latino voters in New Mexico didn't turn out on Election Day. Senator Kerry lost that state by fewer than 6,000 votes.
