Tom Fudge: Tonight, the Democratic and Republican candidates for president hold their third and final debate. It comes at a time when Republican John McCain is fighting an uphill battle. National polls have put McCain about 10 points behind Democrat Barack Obama for nearly a month. Tonight might be McCain's last chance to change minds all around the country. Political pundits say McCain needs this debate to be a game-changer if he's going to win.
Today we've got a political pundit who writes a regular column for NPR.org. His name is Ken Rudin, and his column is called Political Junkie . Since talking about politics has become a bad habit for Ken, we're going spend a little time enabling him today. He joins me from public radio studios in Roanoake, Virginia.
