Barack Obama's win yesterday means San Diego will get a new U.S. Attorney sometime next year. KPBS Reporter Amita Sharma has more.

The names of three potential applicants for the San Diego post have surfaced. They are local attorneys Jerry Coughlan and Mike Attanacio and federal prosecutor Mitch Dembin. Former federal prosecutor Chuck La Bella says to succeed, the new San Diego U.S. Attorney must understand what this area needs.
La Bella: There are border considerations you cannot ignore those. Nor can you ignore the white collar and the sophisticated crime aspects of what goes on in San Diego because San Diego is a hub for various types of fraud. You can't do one to the exclusion of the other.
