Growing Unemployment is Putting the Squeeze on CA's Healthcare System
Maureen Cavanaugh : The recession is introducing us to a lot of things we'd rather not experience. We're seeing some stores we've shopped at for years disappear. It's hard to get a loan, and job security...well, who's got that anymore? And for people who have actually lost their jobs, they're being introduced to a world without health insurance. The newly uninsured are adding to the nation's long-term problem of millions of Americans who do not have health insurance.
As part of the KPBS series Rough Water: Navigating San Diego's Economy , our Health Reporter Kenny Goldberg examines how people losing their jobs and health insurance are affecting San Diego's health care system.
