A dissatisfied judge has ordered all involved parties to resubmit court documents in the federal lawsuit challenging California's gay marriage ban.
U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker said in an order issued Wednesday that everyone involved with the lawsuit failed Friday to make detailed court filings outlining the major issues of the case.
He ordered the government officials and the lawyers opposing and supporting gay marriage to submit new papers by Aug. 17. He says the papers must discuss how gay and heterosexual couples are effected by California's ban and how the election campaign was conducted, among other details he says were missing from the original filings.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of two gay couples seeking to wed in the face of Proposition 8, passed by voters last November.
