San Diego Defense Contractor Moving Headquarters To Virginia

High-tech defense contractor SAIC, one of three Fortune 500 companies in San Diego, announced today it is moving its corporate headquarters to McLean, Va.

"This move will formally relocate the corporate executive leadership team closer to our federal government customers enabling us to better respond quickly and efficiently to their critical needs, while maintaining a significant presence in San Diego," SAIC Chief Executive Officer Walt Havenstein said.

The company, which had annual revenues of $10.1 billion last fiscal year, employs about 45,000 employees worldwide. SAIC has about 4,500 employees in San Diego and 17,500 in Washington, D.C.
