Marine Corps Lance Cpl Eryk “Bo” Vencill, 21, was killed July 5 in a car crash in Perry Township, Ohio, according to WDTN.com.
The Camp Pendleton-based Marine was on leave visiting family when the accident took place.
Ohio state troopers told the Dayton Daily News:
Vencill was driving at a high rate of speed when he went off the left side of Old Dayton Road, struck a mailbox and then a tree. The impact from the crash caused the vehicle Vencill was driving to split in half.
Vencill graduated from Dixie High School in New Lebanon, Ohio in 2011.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, father and stepmother, brother, and sisters.
