YMCA Corporate Board Refused To Release Investigation Results To Branch Leaders
A June resolution shows, however, that board members intended to turn over inquiry findings "to any branch board member who wishes to receive a copy."

The YMCA for San Diego County still hasn't released an investigation into its operation and leadership.

The board hired an outside investigator in response to allegations that YMCA executives, some of them minorities, had been forced out and that business contracts were awarded for reasons other than merit.

YMCA Corporate Board President John Maguire told branch leaders in an email last week that the inquiry found no financial fraud and unlawful discrimination.

But sources — not authorized to speak on the record — say Maguire has refused to forward the actual investigative report to executives at the YMCA's 15 San Diego branches. In June, however, transparency was the goal. A draft corporate board resolution — passed unanimously — shows members intended to give copies of the investigative report to any branch leader who wanted one.

The resolution was given to YMCA lawyers for review. It’s not clear what happened next but ultimately the findings weren’t released. Maguire declined to comment.
