About 90,000 people cross legally through the San Ysidro Port of Entry every single day, according to the federal government.

Among those daily crossers are hundreds of students who live in Tijuana, but go to school in San Diego. The international commute is long and annoying. But it can also be traumatic.

On the latest episode of KPBS' "Only Here" podcast, host Alan Lilienthal talks to Alex Zaragoza, now a journalist, who crossed the international border everyday to get to school. And he speaks to a teacher who is trying to better understand the students who make the daily trip.
