A man and woman were found dead Wednesday morning in a home in Borrego Springs, but a sheriff's lieutenant said there were no outstanding suspects.

Deputies responded Wednesday to the 2900 block of Double O Road, where a woman had reported she hadn't seen her neighbors since Friday, according to Lt. Chad Boudreau of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Unit.

Deputies and Borrego Springs Fire Department personnel entered the home and found the man and woman dead, both with trauma to their bodies, Boudreau said.

"There are no outstanding suspects at this time," he said.

It was unclear if the deaths were believed to be the result of a murder-suicide.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine how the man and woman died, Boudreau said.

Their names were withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

KPBS has created a public safety coverage policy to guide decisions on what stories we prioritize, as well as whose narratives we need to include to tell complete stories that best serve our audiences.
