"Such a Fun Age" is a novel about a young babysitter and her well-intentioned employer that dives into issues of race and privilege with a nuanced approach that's relatable to a diverse audience.

Author Kiley Reid, who will be at Warwick's in La Jolla January 14, joined Midday Edition to talk about her debut novel and the complex issues that unravel through the pages. She also talked about her next project.

"I have been writing about class issues for a really long time but I am sure the small crushes, jealousies, insecurities and all of that stuff will make appearances again," Reid said.
