History Of Scripps Institution Of Oceanography Showcased In New Book

In its 120 year history, Scripps Institution of Oceanography has been a leader in marine research and the study of climate change. The scientific breakthroughs that have come from the Institution are globally known.

Now, that history and contributions are showcased in a new book, featuring 200 photos from throughout the years. Images of America: Scripps Institution of Oceanography is part of a series of books on the history of local places.

Robert Monroe is the author of the book and a communications officer at Scripps. He joined Midday Edition on Wednesday to discuss the book and how it came about.
